Description
The scale shirts I've seen so far have somewhat messy shoulder seams, with lots of visible rings. Here I've tried to make a 45 degree seam on scales where the seam itself is also covered with scales.
The materials used are small stainless steel and brass scales, and 1,2x5,2 mm (18 ga. 3/16") stainless steel rings.
To connect the seam itself I treated the scale fabric as a sheet of Jap. 4-1. For a sturdier seam you could just double up the rings, or use 1,6x5,2 mm rings instead. The scales covering the seam can flop around a bit since they are only atached by two rings, but as far as I can tell they will lie properly flat by themselves.

Thank you for showing how proper scale armor would be made.
Too many fantasy artists forget that scales are only useful on a mail mesh.
